What are LUMINEERS® by Cerinate®?
LUMINEERS® by Cerinate® are dental implants that are designed for cosmetic purposes. They are fittings that are attached to the surface of the teeth in order to lighten the appearance of the teeth and to ensure that they are of an even and consistent shade. LUMINEERS® by Cerinate® do not serve a primary health function in addition to this cosmetic benefit.
What do LUMINEERS® by Cerinate® do?
LUMINEERS® by Cerinate® are designed to serve a cosmetic purpose only. They enhance the appearance of the teeth by providing a uniform whiteness, helping to disguise or mask any stains and discolorations that may have built up on the teeth over time. Unlike some other types of whitening treatments, LUMINEERS® by Cerinate® do not actively remove those stains and discolored spots, but simply cover them with a plastic polymer covering.
What are the benefits of LUMINEERS® by Cerinate® over similar treatments?
While some whitening strips and gels achieve considerable results, LUMINEERS® by Cerinate® tend to have a more even and guaranteed benefit. Because the implants are custom designed, a good fit is ensured. You can also specify the shade of the veneer fittings to a highly targeted degree. These veneers are better than other types of veneer implants as well, because they can be removed later on if necessary. This allows for an easier time replacing and reconfiguring the veneers in the future years after the initial procedure.
Who is a candidate for LUMINEERS® by Cerinate®?
The most common candidate for LUMINEERS® by Cerinate® is an adult who has experienced some staining or discoloration of the teeth. For these patients, the procedure will provide the greatest benefit. Most dental technicians will not serve adolescent patients, as the adult teeth should be fully grown in and unlikely to make any additional changes in position in order to achieve the greatest and longest lasting results.
What is the procedure like?
LUMINEERS® by Cerinate® can be installed in two visits to the dentist's office. During the first visit, a molding of the mouth will be taken. This allows the manufacturers to produce veneers that are custom fit to your teeth. You'll also discuss the potential benefits and styles for your veneers with your dentist. During the second visit, after the veneers have been made, you'll check for a healthy fit. The LUMINEERS® by Cerinate® will then be installed over the surface of the affected teeth. They are held in place with a special type of dental cement.
What is the recovery like?
There is no dedicated recovery time for this procedure. It does not involve any pain relief medications, as the procedure is painless. Your dentist may recommend that you avoid certain types of foods and drinks which may be more likely to stain the veneers.
What are the risks?
Although it may take patients a little while to feel comfortable with the veneers implanted in their mouth, there are few if any risks to LUMINEERS® by Cerinate® when installed correctly.
