Replace silver fillings

Replacing silver fillings or dental amalgams is becoming increasingly popular. Patients are getting their old unsightly silver amlagam fillings replaced with esthetic tooth colored composite fillings at their local cosmetic dentist practice. In fact today many dentists refuse to give patients silver amalgam fillings for a number of reasons. The dental amalgam issue has been a hot topic for many years. The hard core holistic dentists insist silver amalgams are poisonous and should never be used. The ADA states there is no scientific evidence to prove the negative effects.

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle and if the choice is available tooth colored fillings are probably a better option.
