Invisalign Express
Invisalign Express is a teeth straightening device that can be used in a wide range of patients. These devices are invisible and will move the teeth on a gradual basis, making these straight in time. The aligners can help with problems such as:
- Crowding of teeth
- Gaps between teeth
- Crooked teeth
The results should start to show after only six months, even if this period may be variable, according to the initial position of the teeth. However, the Express model of the Invisalign aligners will show results faster than the regular Invisalign devices (which should be used for 12 to 18 months before results start to show).
Invisalign Express is installed after getting an impression of the teeth and after the technician creates aligners that are fitted to the teeth. Unlike traditional braces, which will require permanent adjustments as the position of the teeth change, with Invisalign Express, there will be no need for adjustments. However, a couple of follow up sessions are recommended, to track the progress of the treatment. Typically, Invisalign Express is cheaper than the regular Invisalign devices.
Invisalign Teen
Invisalign Teen is a device that has been created specially for teenagers. Teenagers are more sensitive about their appearance and the presence of braces may make them self conscious. Invisalign Teen is a device that will not be visible and will be removable at all times.
The device is similar to the regular Invisalign aligners, but there are several replacement pieces (in case any of the pieces of the aligners are lost). This is due to the fact that the aligners are removable and teens may easily misplace them.
The Difference between Invisalign Express and Invisalign Teen
While both types of Invisalign are transparent, made of plastic and removable, there are a few differences between the two aligners. While Invisalign Teen is only suitable for teenagers, Invisalign Express may be used both in teens and adults. The Invisalign Teen devices will have some replacement aligners as well.
Typically, Invisalign Express will give faster results than any other types of Invisalign. The results with Invisalign Express should be visible after six months of wearing the aligners, while the other devices may require 12 to 18 months. However, the results of Invisalign Express may not be as good as the results of other types of Invisalign aligners. Typically, Invisalign Express is recommended to patients that have less severe orthodontic problems.
It must be noted that both Invisalign Teen and Invisalign Express cannot solve all problems related to the position of the teeth. If there are orthodontic problems that cannot be fixed with Invisalign, then traditional braces should be used.
